Volkswagen CC, EOS and GTI, Jetta GLI, Passat and Audi A3 2.0L Air Intake Installation
69-9504TTK -K&N has designed a performance air intake system for the 2011 Volkswagen CC, EOS and GTI 2.0L, 2009 and 2010 Volkswagen CC, EOS and GTI, Jetta GLI, Passat 2.0L and 2008 to 2011 Audi A3 2.0L. K&N dynamometer tests show an estimated 9.19 horsepower gain at 4853 RPM with use of this K&N air intake modification. K&N tests multiple vehicles for each air intake system it makes to ensure a consistent horsepower and torque gain. This video demonstrates the steps needed to install a power gaining K&N air intake into 2011 Volkswagen CC, EOS and GTI 2.0L, 2009 and 2010 Volkswagen CC, EOS and GTI, Jetta GLI, Passat 2.0L and 2008 to 2011 Audi A3 with the 2.0L engine. 69-9504

@jtrageser I am not talking about a replacement “drop in” filter…
If your original airbox is covered and getting air from the fender area where water, dirt and other contaminants are mostly removed already and then you throw a CAI where the filter is EXPOSED or more exposed than the original airbox then you have to be careful mainly in offroad situations where water is splashed around.

@SnowroxKT This is incorrect. K&N filters not only allow higher air flow into the intake, they also filter the air much better than a stock filter. Fact.

@darkhome Actually, Marijuana is not legal in all of California and in most of Cali you can get a fine for having an Ounce or less in your possession. That’s more lenient than laws in most states but still not technically legal. Oregon is the real deal when it comes to Marijuana being legal. There’s virtually no laws in Oregon for it and in Oregon you don’t even have to pay for your smoke most of the time…

@illchillkyle Mainly because most people/consumers don’t want loud engine sounds inside the cabin and K&N Filters/Intakes make the engine a bit louder and have more of a “Throaty” sound.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:36 am
@illchillkyle A manufacturer puts their R&D into the engine only. The OE intake systems are produced at a very large number by outside companies. It would cost a manufacturer much more money per vehicle to design and produce intake systems for all their vehicles. Also, all manufacturers have their own performance line where similar intake systems are available, for example: GM-GM Performance, Ford-Ford Racing, Toyota-TRD, Nissan-NISMO, etc.

@illchillkyle I believe a lot is noise from the engine and CAI generally do not get as clean of air to the filter because they are out in the open more… Just a thought I am no expert!

I am in no way doubting the power gain. However I have a question. Why don’t automotive manufacturers sell vehicles with Cold Air Intakes standard? If they increase HP, and possibly MPG, why not? All of the plastic pieces would cost far more to produce than the short sweet CAI. Vehicles have so much potential and automotive manufacturers always limit them!
January 9th, 2012 at 10:54 am
@maggotball .. You are ill informed and have no clue as to what you are talking about!!!. A Good CAI is a solid bolt on that will net you positive HP/TQ gains on ANY platform (even a freaking lawnmower!!!) I have never seen a car actually lose HP because of this install. Stop talking shit on a subject you have no experience with…..As a matter of fact tell us all about 1 application or any Application where a higher flowing air intake filter made the car lose HP..
January 9th, 2012 at 11:04 am
@maggotball You’re wrong on 100 different levels, so far off from understanding how ANYTHING works in life to be able to give any advice to people regarding anything internal combustion related. This isn’t meant as a personal attack, but I cannot even begin to explain how incorrect you are and how far off your understanding of fluid dynamics, and basic engine dynamics are.

very helpful vid! going to get a typhoon intake soon for my passat 2.0t 07

@ShepperdW Your laziness is probably why you won’t be able to afford living here.
January 9th, 2012 at 11:59 am
@Krimghor I’m too lazy for that shit. I’ll just live elsewhere without trashed beaches and overrated settings.
January 9th, 2012 at 12:41 pm
@ShepperdW imagine this, when you go get your test done, you put the stock intake back on. I know i totally just blew your mind, right?
January 9th, 2012 at 1:03 pm
@maggotball This statement is completely false. All of our dyno tests are comparing a stock vehicle to the same vehicle with only our kit. It is true that performance exhaust systems add HP; they do so the same way an intake does.
January 9th, 2012 at 1:24 pm
what most people dont seem to be able to comprehend is this is not a bolt on horsepower gain, without an exhaust system that can take the extra airflow one can actually LOSE hp, you generally want to upgrade your exhaust when you put in a better intake
January 9th, 2012 at 2:12 pm
this looks like a lot of BS just for 7 HP
January 9th, 2012 at 2:55 pm
@98Mpower This would actually reduce smog not increase it. So CA is stupid.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:46 pm
OMG! There’s no way I could do this myself. I got a headache just watching this.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:30 pm
@Krimghor Emission testers will.
January 9th, 2012 at 5:06 pm
@ShepperdW No cop is going to know you have the air intake installed…
January 9th, 2012 at 5:24 pm
@Wolverine1445 Not true. Notice when you’re on a dyno, you’re not moving. So there is actually LESS cold air then when you are on the road doing say about 60… It’s really not that hard of a concept to understand.
January 9th, 2012 at 5:50 pm
for one… why would we pay 250 dollars more for a air intake that someone can get on ebay for 50 bucks and its the same basic thing. and if your filters are superior why wouldn’t we just go buy a filter of yours for 30 bucks so the total is 80? what makes your junk intakes worth another 250. And for two how can i respect someones opinion if they cant even spell nevada right? what are you mexican or somthing
January 9th, 2012 at 6:09 pm
I got your hump hose 4:21
January 9th, 2012 at 6:11 pm
@KNfilters I just purchased a 2010 VW CC, and was wondering if installing one of these air intakes voids ones’ warrantee if not would this be better for the engine if so how? Also could you recommend a good performance chip for my car, I know there are alot chips out there that are known to worsen your car’s HP and fuel economy. Thx.
January 9th, 2012 at 6:12 pm
@KNfilters A big-ass company like K&N can’t even spell Nevada? What has this world become?
